There is sufficient space inside the museum premises to park at least 10 cars. Tour coaches and buses must be parked outside on the wide road where there is ample safe parking space.

Visitors are welcome to take photos but must purchase still or video camera tickets at the counter. Commercial or professional film crews must write to the Manager for advance clearance. Photography is controlled strictly to protect delicate display items from excess light exposure.

For the convenience of our guests, clean, modern European-type toilets are located on the ground floor and upstairs on the third-storey gallery. Please ask our museum guards or staff for directions.

Accessibility Assistance

While we currently lack wheelchair ramps, our security guards are fully trained and ready to assist visitors. Please ask at the entrance, and our guards will happily help lift wheelchairs to ensure access to higher floors.

TV Films

movie History Films

Watch historical DVD documentaries about Gurkha campaigns, primarily produced by the BBC, on small museum TV across the floors. Ask staff to start the screening. Due to copyright restrictions, they are not on sale or allowed to be copied.

Reference Library Room

Located on the ground floor next to the main office, our library houses hundreds of historic regimental magazines and books. Access is restricted to researchers who write to the Manager in advance. Books must remain in the library to preserve their fragile condition.

School Visits

We organize group visits for schools with custom questionnaires in English & Nepali (plus teacher answer keys) which require children to search the museum exhibits. School staff should contact the Manager in advance to coordinate timings and secure group discounts.

Rooftop View

roofing Rooftop Hiring

Our spacious rooftop accommodates up to 100 guests and features prepared tent pole holes. It has no cooking facility, but outside caterers are welcome to bring tents, tables, and prepared food. Renters enjoy a breathtaking, close-up panoramic view of the Himalayan range and Pokhara city from over 30 feet high.

Management Committee

Registered in 1994 at Kathmandu under the Gurkha Memorial Trust, the museum is guided by an 11-member committee. As detailed in our charter, our current committee members are retired personnel from the Brigade of Gurkhas, the Indian Army, and the Singapore Police Force.

Structure: 11 Retired Officers.
